I love it! Come down and try it for yourself. I enjoyed the rice, chicken curry and ice kopi o kosong and not forgetting sambal belachan. The curry veg could be better if its spicier. I love that they have like island table with tinted glass partition...feels more privacy though the restaurant is not packed now la.

Frankly… I have eaten at Serangoon BBQ & Curry when it became a hawker stall at Toa Payoh Lor 8 and then moved to a few different coffee shops in Bishan. Food then was excellent and I came with the same anticipation of eating my favourite dishes but sadly, the experience had been disappointing. The chicken didn’t have that charred taste any more and the sotong was tough. The previous sambal chilli was actually the cherry on top and made everything extra delicious but now, it’s just spicy. You don’t have that pungent fragrance of belachan any more and it’s watery instead of a paste. The otah was dry and not at all savoury, a far cry from what I remembered it used to be. I am never against food businesses going upmarket if the quality is just as good or better. But now, it just felt gimmicky and trying to follow food trends instead of preserving a food heritage and taste. What caught me by surprise was that the total bill came with 10% service charge when I placed the order using the QR code and I collected my own food and I had to return the plates after eating. I would really be better off eating at a restaurant with wait staff and all.

Food was great and the spice level was just nice. Ordering was seamless but perhaps not suitable for older folks who are used to ordering in person but nevertheless they do have a staff on site to guide you. Everything else is self serve but yet food is pretty amazing . Pro Tip sign up for theVIP mbership via their app and you get to enjoy instant discounts.

Portion is small, taste-wise bland. Sambal quail eggs were just chilli, zero flavour. Salmon didn't even look bakar, probably air-fried, no marination or seasoning. Nothing in this whole bowl had flavour except maybe the soy sauce that was brushed on the salmon. Cut of salmon is also small compared to menu photo. $22 for this bowl above and a cup of iced water (after membership even). Thought it would be great taste-wise considering the price point; sadly it wasn't. Not for me, won't return again. Two stars given only for friendly staff (lady) and the clean outlet.

We decided to try this stall out of curiosity while my partner was attending a specialist appointment nearby. The lontong was decent, but at $8.90 (after the membership discount), it felt expensive and not particularly worth the price. The coffee was only about three-quarters full, and the otah toastie at $10.90 was clearly overpriced. Overall, it wasn’t a satisfying experience, and we’re unlikely to return anytime soon.
