Value for money set meals. For 2 pax, there are 3 dishes accompanied by 2 rice. Came early to have lunch so no queue. Definitely worth it.

Value for money and perfect for a casual lunch. I found the dishes and set meals well priced. I order a 2 pax set meal at $28.80 (before taxes) that included 1) a curry fish head that came with a generous amount of fish, long beans, eggplant and tofu puffs. It was nicely presented in a claypot and kept warm throughout the meal over a flame 2) a plate of stir fried broccoli. The vegetable was cooked well with garlic and retained a good crunch 3) a ‘Chai Poh’ omelette was well cooked. It was flavourful, only a tad dry The meal was overall satisfactory and I’d definitely return. The portion was generous and I’d recommend patty of 3 if all are small eaters.

Snuggled in a distant part of Singapore at Hill view..walking distance to Hill view MRT, cosy and comfortable air conditioned with affordable portions of tzechar halal food for large group dinner. Fish dishes taste good!

Nice cosy Halal TzeChar. Good spread of dishes across categories like seafood, poultry, vegetables, noodles, rice, dessert and hot/cold drinks. Assam curry fish, black bee hoon with slipper lobster, ladies fingers are recommended. Did not have a chance to try the Kang Kong with cuttlefish. Service was good even though the plave was full. Reservations recommended!!

A cozy unassuming neighbourhood eatery serving local favorites. The food was tasty and decent portions. Had the sweet and sour fish, sambal kangkong and tofu. Very happy with what we got. Family friendly and reasonably priced. Give it a go if you are in the area. Update: Food was good as usual but the decision to not serve customers tap water and to charge for bottled water is ridiculous. The management should seriously consider the poor customer experience it creates. Especially, if you rely on regular customers for your business

Today we celebrated Mother’s Day at Jiak. I have been wanting to try this eastern after recommendations from my colleagues. As reservations were full, we went early to try our luck. Blessing that the timing we went was perfect and we are a seat on arrival. There were only 5 of us so we did not order too much. We ordered the Signature Seafood Black Beehoon; Prawn paste chicken; Sweet & Sour Seabass; Ladyfingers and a Seafood fried rice as the girls are too sceptical to try the black beehoon. I must say all the dishes are cooked to perfectly suit my palate😋 I was initially worried if the black beehoon would come with an over empowering flavor but no, it didn’t! In fact it contains the freshness of the seafood in the dish and overall a 👍. The fish is another one worth recommending. Personally I love sweet & sour dishes and this one is done right on the spot. Fish is fried till it’s crispy to every bite and the sauce nailed it all. Chicken comes covered with loose crumbs which my daughter finished to the last bit! The 2 desserts which they have, the chendol and mango ice were sweet and serve as the icing to the cake for the evening. Great place with tasty food. One minus point is, the food took a bit long to be served and there was one staff giving our free snacks to appease the diners but I am not sure why our table was left out when we are the second table to be seated🤨 Not a fair gesture on his part. I would have rated 5 stars if not for this.....

Informed the staff that the plate served was dirty and requested for a new plate, there was remnants not washed properly, but staff says it's not dirty, just a hole?? and never came back with a plate. Poor service. Regret signing up and paying for the membership. Staff should not throw their unhappiness to work at customers. Ordered the divine chicken pot recommended on display, but the chicken had gamey taste, and the entire dish is super salty we rather waste the $18 than eat it, would not recommend it. Update since management has shared that the feedback is helpful - adding on, other areas of improvement we hope to see: Training of staff on the membership before processing any payment, and to listen to constructive feedback to improve and acknowledge. At the point of payment, no staff asked me whether customer is a member or whether there are coupons to offset either. When I feedbacked about the dish at the cashier the staff simply looked at me and completely ignored my feedback, pretending like she did not hear a thing.

Prawn paste chicken was good! Decent dinner, had the set for two and added prawn paste chicken, also topped up $5 for dessert, total bill came out to ~$60.

Highly recommend Jiak @ Hillv2 – it is now one of my family's favourite places to jiak at whenever we crave tzechar. The food is reasonably priced and every single dish we've tried is so yummy! Our favourites are the curry fish head, prawn paste chicken and squid ink seafood beehoon. The staff are also very friendly, especially a young cheerful Chinese male staff. Kudos to the Jiak team! 👍🏽

The chicken pot was very yummy, those who enjoy the taste of mala but prefer something more fragrant, less spicy and numbing, this is perfect.

Went at 1130am, 1 staff outside, 1 staff inside making drinks and 1 staff for packing and taking calls. Full House by 1145am and still just 1 guy outside to take orders from all tables. Manager needs to rethink the staff planning. Food and drink might be prepared fast but it's pointless without people to serve to the customers. Been coming here for years and food is still up to standard though, good job on that 👍

Generous portions of food. Floor was still from mobbing when we went in at 11.30am

Food was delicious but portions were really small. We paid nearly $30 each for a set meal plus two extra dishes, and we were still hungry. Ain't value for money. When they say "Small" on the menu, they really mean it. Don't bring a whole bunch of big eaters there. That said, the staff were friendly, and the restaurant was clean and bright.

Had the curry fish head, golden claypot chicken, and chye por tofu. Food was too salty especially the fish head and tofu. Fish head very little meat. Basic drinks like coke and sprite sold out. Staff could have been more helpful - they didn’t highlight to us there were set menus (which were cheaper and more bang for the buck) or discounts available.

Halal Tze Char cafe in Hill V2. Overall, the food was quite good and tasty, but the service was not as good as it could be. We waited quite a while for each of our 3 dishes to arrive. The sliced fish Kai Lan came only when I was about to finish my mee Goreng. Considering that there were not many customers when we first arrived there, it was a bit puzzling. If you're willing to wait, you can try the place out.

22 Mar 2024 This is an edit from my earlier review. After I shared my review, the owner (Jason) reached out and apologised for the bad experience that I had and explained the circumstances. He also offered to make it up for my next visit. We had a set for 8 pax and the food was good, but the portions were a bit on the small side. The fish and lala were fresh and the salted egg prawn was very tasty. However the eggs were a bit on the salty side. Nonetheless, it was a good meal and we appreciated the owner reaching out to us. 10 Mar 2024 The dining experience was terrible. We were informed at the time of ordering that there was a crowd and it would take 20-25 minutes for the food to be served. However, we ended up waiting for an hour - from 7pm to 8pm. When we checked with the staff if the food has been prepared, we discovered that the food was not even cooked yet. My dining party consisted of young children and elderly and it was a terrible experience for them as they were starving at that point. We ended up cancelling the order and left the restaurant. The restaurant felt hot and stuffy as well.

Decent food with good portion and taste. Service can be improved with more conscientious waitresses. Too cramp and can get noisy during peak period.
