Nemu Senja is an Indonesian-inspired HDB block cafe at Cheng San. The owners are a husband-wife duo who serve Indonesian bean blends and some food items. I was there early and thought I'll have to wait till 10am when they open, but the owner was so nice to let me place my order first and got onto making my coffee once the machine is working! It's a small space but you can tell they put in effort to make it homely. Nothing fancy, just a warm and cozy nook. There is a book corner, portable fan, different types of seating etc. to accommodate to customers. I got a hot white and I love how it was served in a proper ceramic mug instead of a takeaway cup! The coffee was a good size too, a relief from all the tiny portions many cafes do nowadays for exorbitant prices. Her hot white has thick layer of milk foam on top, before getting to the liquid coffee itself, which came as a surprise to me. The coffee was so smooth and easy to drink. Not acidic, bitter or sour at all, it's something I would recommend to my friends who are non-coffee lovers. I was given a cup of water without having to ask too! Thank you for the considerate gesture :) The owner is an avid, passionate and really experienced hiker by the way! Strike up a conversation with her if you share the same hobby, and you'll hear all her amazing trekking/hiking dtories and adventures 😁 Really hospitable and friendly people who serve great coffees!

small cafe with very cozy vibes. the owner Zara is incredibly friendly and genuinely takes the time to recommend and share their bestselling drinks. i love the book corner the most, get to enjoy the drinks while reading instead of doomscrolling online. will come back for sure!

I tried their coffee and it definitely lived up to expectations. It was well-balanced with a robust coffee flavour, yet not overly sweet. The food was pretty decent too. I particularly enjoyed the fried taupok, which was crispy on the outside with a generous amount of filling inside. They even gave us a complimentary brownie to try, which was a nice gesture. The only minor downside wasn’t really the shop’s fault. There was a chair nearby where people were constantly smoking, so it wasn’t very comfortable to sit and enjoy our drinks with the lingering cigarette smell. While it’s not something the café can control, it did affect the overall dining experience. Overall, I’d be happy to come back again for the coffee and food.

Tucked away in the heart of Ang Mo Kio is a cozy little coffee concept shop that's perfect for catching up with friends or simply unwinding over a good drink. Offering more than 20 handcrafted beverages at reasonable prices, there's something for every palate. From classic coffees to non caffeinated coconut roselle. What truly sets this place apart is its warm and welcoming atmosphere from Gus and Zara. More than just a cafe, it's a space designed for people to connect, relax and enjoy meaningful conversations while sipping on delicious, expertly prepared drinks. The highlight of the experience are the knowledgeable barista, who are clearly passionate about coffee. They are always happy to share their expertise, explain the different beans, brewing methods and flavour profiles, making every visit not just enjoyable but educational as well. Whether you're a seasoned coffee enthusiast or just beginning your coffee journey, you'll leave with a greater appreciation for what's in your cup!

A kinda hole in the wall coffee spot, which was made better when it windy as we sat at a lift lobby and enjoyed our coffee! The coffee was a generous cup, and for a very affordable price too - they also accept CDC which opens up the market to even elderlies to try out their coffee. I was looking for a fragrant note or a floral fruity note to my coffee but didn’t find it, else it would have been a full 5 stars - but not to take away anything from their coffee since it’s still really good 👍🏻
