Tried mutton biryani for today's lunch. It's dum alright, saw for myself. Mutton was tender but from frozen. So it's texture isn't there. Masala was good. Dalcha was thick gravy. But the rice isn't flavourful enough. Needs more whole spices during the preboil process. Acar compliments the dish

Mr Dum Biryani, awarded the Top Heritage Award 2021, is located at Pasir Panjang Food Centre. They focus on authentic Hyderabadi dum biryani, known for its fragrant long grain basmati rice & tender meats. The stall uses the traditional kacchi/raw style, where raw marinated meat & partially cooked rice are slow cooked together in a sealed pot. I went for the S$8.00 mutton biryani - served with chunky, tender pieces of mutton, flavorful rice, & a generous portion for the price. The sides - homemade chana/chickpea curry & achar/pickled vegetables - complemented the dish well & helped balance out the richness. A satisfying brunch for today. FYI : According to market said that Mr Dum Biryani/hawker concept & Mr Biryani/restaurant biz are the same brand, just in different formats.

1st time here. Was recommended by my brother Habib. Place is at Pasir Panjang Food Centre. A few minutes walk from the Pasir Panjang MRT(Exit A). Only an aunty was at the stall. Very friendly and humble. Stall was quite clean. They do have some combo pricing as well. Bought one Mutton biriyani to dine in. The taste was good. Dalcha was nice but could be a bit thicker. Portion was decent. Mutton piece was good. Mutton was cooked well and was soft. The mutton gravy(masala) was not a lot but decent. Rice was good. Comes with achar also. Achar taste is good.👍 They even sell achar in bottles each at $4.50. I didn't get one but maybe will, in the near future😇. They do take orders for small functions. Do check them out.

Very unassuming and yummy Dum Briyani. Why Dum? Cos the meat is cooked together with the rice hence the rice is more flavourful after absorbing the jus from the meats. This amazing Mutton Briyani is served with homemade Indian achar. Support this young lady, trying to make a living in F&B sharing with everyone her family recipe.
