Visited the Marrybrown outlet at Yio Chu Kang Community Centre, which shares its premises with KNS Indian Restaurant. Ordering was straightforward via the self-service kiosk, and the food was served promptly. For our family of three, we ordered two Fish Burger meals, a Happy Meal, and a 5-piece chicken set. The food quality was consistent with what I would expect from Marrybrown. The reason for my review relates to a service experience towards the end of our meal. As we were unable to finish two pieces of chicken, I approached the counter to request takeaway packaging. While speaking to one of the staff members, the manager, Ashok, instructed the staff in Tamil to place the chicken directly into a plastic bag. Unfortunately, the chicken pieces shifted around and the contents toppled, which was not ideal. I then asked if a box or container could be provided instead. While I understand that there may be outlet policies regarding takeaway packaging, what disappointed me was the communication. Rather than addressing my concern directly, instructions were relayed through another staff member. From his facial expression and manner of interaction, I felt that my request was not well received. Eventually, the chicken was packed into smaller bags before being placed into the larger plastic bag. My feedback is not about the packaging itself, but about the customer service experience. A simple explanation delivered directly and courteously would have gone a long way. As a manager, Ashok represents the outlet, and customers naturally look to management for professionalism and service recovery when concerns arise. I hope this feedback is taken constructively. The food and ordering experience were satisfactory, but the final interaction left a disappointing impression on what would otherwise have been an enjoyable visit.
