We went on a weekday night for dinner here at meokja. It was packed and waiting time took around 10-15 mins before we are seated. We tried variety of dishes that includes Tteokbokki, Beef Bibimbap, Yangnyeom Chikin, Cheesy Kimchi-jeon and Hansang set, which is the only one that’s not in the picture. The beef bibimbap is quite a big portion for me. Eating that alone could filled my stomach with love. It was so flavourful and tasty. Equal proportions and juicy beef. Not to mention the kimchi jeon, Absolutely crispy, delicious and loved it. If they added on dipping sauce on the side would be great too. Overall, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND both of these dishes!! However, i would rate 3/5 for the other dishes that i ordered. The other downside is the place is not enclosed which can be quite hot. Do note there’s no parking for bikers around this area.

Went on a friday this week for a farewell dinner, honestly speaking the food cmi ezcept for the beef bulgogi. Kimchi soup too salty if you go without the rice abd surprising the stew pot is not boiled and the soup is not piping hot kind which is quite disappointing. fried chicken aka the tangsuyuk the chicken is ok but the lemon deep is too starchy. Jjampom is very normal nothing special. Due to crave of the colleague and we had muslim colleague so we have found this place to try out. This place wont be a choice for me to back for korean food unless there is a need for halal korean food.

Remember to make reservation if you don’t want to endup waiting for an hour. I saw a group of 6 waiting for 15min outside of the restaurant despite having a reservation. (There was a table already reserved for them) .. Service is really slow in terms of cleaning up / prepping the table / ushering of seats Food was served decently fast though upon ordering. Limited selection of food, overall taste 3/5 aside from the tangsuyuk which was 4/5! Might return on a weekday off peak hours to try a different dish..

Have been wanting to dine in MeokJa ever since a friend recommended the place. And I managed to dine in on a very rare weekend off. Definitely did not disappoint. Ordered the JjamPpong set which comes with x2 bowls of JjamPpong and a plate of TangSuYuk. The Jjampong was full of flavour with a generous amount of seafood. And the chicken from the TangSuYuk was very crispy and it complements the sweet & sour sauce that accompanies it. Will definitely dine in again...Or maybe get it delivered right to my doorstep. Highly recommended to give them a try if anyone looking for authentic korean food. And to my muslim friends out there, it is Muslim owned :)

Great food and service was quick! The kimchi jjigae was flavourful and rice portion was generous. Seaweed was also provided as a side for the rice. We got an eomuk-tang to share and the fish cakes were a great texture - not too mushy which tends to be the case often in SG. Jjajangmyeon was also good, although I personally found it a bit sweet for my liking. Would have preferred a less sweet sauce, but was still a good meal overall.

Food was yummy but too spicy for me. It would be better if the spicy dishes have less spicy option. Less spicy, not not spicy. Added the rice because it got spicy too fast. 😰 Sad that they didn't have gimbap on the menu. Maybe next time.

THE FOOD WAS SOOO GOOD. ive never actually been to Korea but i would think this is what halal authentic Korean food should taste like. It’s flavourful and homely and wholesome. I had the beef jjampong and it was the best meal. I thought about it the entire day for the weekend 😅

Went to patreon this restaurant right before the lunch peak hour. Glad that I managed to secure a seat as their seats are limited. I would say that their food was more authentic than I expected. Tried their Jjampong. The spice level was just nice for me and they were generous with the seafood ingredient. Noodles were homemade and the texture of it is nice. Utensils were kept in the drawer right at the side of the table. This really added more korean style to the restaurant. Sadly the hotteok was unavailable when I wanted to try it. Will come back again in the future, hopefully being able to get a chance to try the hotteok. One suggestion is that I feel it will be better if they also served drinks like roasted barley. I believe many customers would want to order it too.

We visited on 4 Nov (Sat) at around 2pm+ & we ordered jjampong & kimchi jiggae. Jjampong had quite abit of fresh seafood (3 clams, 2 small prawns, 2 squid) so it was not bad (but a tad too spicy imo) & the kimchi jiggae was pretty good (more on the sour side rather than spicy). We spent around $28 in total. The banchan (side dishes) were very disappointing though (just a few slices of seaweed) 😔

Chance upon this place while in the area for dinner and decided to give it a try. The place is really small and crowded and noisy but is bearable for a quick meal. Not authentic but food is surprisingly decent for the price and setup. Wouldnt mind coming back again to try the other dishes.

Thankfully no queue when we arrived. Seated fairly quick. Food was just ok. Jjamppong wasn’t as spicy as one would expect. Seafood amount was not bad. Bibimbap was ok. Perhaps. Dash of sesame oil would elevate the flavours. Also, asked the staff for gochujang and I even said red paste, she came back with red cili padi. Yangyeom chicken is boneless chicken. Sauce was not bad. Was asked if we want banchan. I mean, it’s a Korean place. Of course banchan is a must even though it wasn’t substantial. Kimchi was a tad sour. Just nice for kimchi fried rice.

Eomuk Tang=> think salt was too cheap?! 🤢The entire dish was soooo salty! Tteokbokki=> sugar was free? 😂 The dish was too sweet 😨 Kimchi Jjijae=> sweet more than spicy?! Definitely not the kind I've had tasted before... I guessed the chefs were not in too good a mood to cook? 😂It was a disappointing meal....

Experience was for Iftar, so staff was abit busy (totally understandable, as everyone was ordering at the same time). Food was great and portion size seems generous. Would definitely come back if near the area.
