A nice little Halal Chinese Cuisine restaurant. Serves good dishes at reasonable price. They have curry fish head and tail promotion which I go for. Good authentic Chinese cooking. We always clean out the plate. The waitresses are attentive and provide good service.

A well hidden place located in between hdb flats. Simple setup with both indoor air conditional and outdoor sittings. Suitable for gathering and family with young children. Food were amazingly good and it’s one of the best halal zhi char I have tried so far. The ingredients are fresh and the price is reasonable too. Don’t miss out their shrimp paste fried chicken, curry fish head and stirred fried beef with vegetables.

Good comforting place for dinner with family. Good variety of Chinese zhi char style food to choose from. Service is fast and no fuss. The curry fish head we had was good and had plenty of fish meat. One of the few places we had visited many times for dinner at Clementi.

The service was good. The shrimp paste chicken, sambal kang kong and Tom yam soup was good however was quite disappointed with the oyster omelet not sure what sauce they put on the egg spoiled the taste. The beef with cashew was really terrible very sour with a very strong taste of vinegar I think. The tea and hot lemon tea was place in a plastic cup ?

Went there on weekdays evening and still many empty seats, overall good Chinese food, egg plant was impressive would definitely order again, we ordered Kong Bao Beef and they mis-served with chicken (and they changed it back), beef was honestly too dry (and tough) and found chicken was way much tender. Tofu was Japanese tofu, not our taste but in average. Given the price it’s good to have casual, fast dinner here.

First time trying this halal store at clementi after friend recommendation. Maybe i went at a time that is not too crowded so everything is smooth. Recommend the Prawn Paste Chicken & Curry Fish Head. Will be back again to try other dish.

25th Aug'23 The salted eggs & chili crabs are good 👍. For the Assam fish, the flesh is slightly on the tough side. Oyster omelette quite ok. Pandan chicken could be better. Sambal Kang Kong is good. Cereal prawn is tasty too.

Food is nice and affordable, but no garnishing. A garnish makes food look good & will make food more visually appealing. Overall is good.

decent halal zi-char. Curry/asam fish head is a must have here.

A halal tze char place serving up the usual dishes. We came on a weekday and it was full so we had to sit outside. We could also see many people ordering takeaway dishes too. We tried the following dishes: - Fish head curry - tasty but felt the gravy can be thicker. - Salted egg sotong - this was done well. Crispy! - Sambal kangkung - Oyster egg - thought this could be better. Lacked the oyster taste though there were a few large oysters. The food was ready really quick! And the price was reasonable.

My family wasn't feeling particularly hungry, and we decided to go to A-Poh Kitchen for dinner, a place we hadn't been to for several years. This is basically a halal chinese restaurant. I am perfectly fine with eating chinese food in a halal restaurant provided there is no compromise to the taste of the food. Am happy to say that the food at A-Poh Kitchen is very good. I ordered beef chye sim, salted egg sotong, and oyster omelette, with one plate of rice to be shared among the three of us. The waitress who took our order (a middle aged chinese lady) had the presence of mind to serve the plate of rice together with another two empty plates even though we did not ask for the empty plates nor indicate to her that the three of us wanted to share one plate of rice. This may seem to be a small thing, but nowadays, common sense isn't that common. So kudos to our waitress. For me, the star of the show is the salted egg sotong. I muttered "wow" in my mind whilst eating it. There was a very generous coating of salted egg on the sotong, such that when you take a bite, you might initially think you are biting into a salted egg pastry, except that a few joyous seconds later, your taste buds tell you that it is not pastry but sotong that is in your mouth. We ought to come back more often. I think we will!
