Afghanistan Family Restaurant has a long history, and that shows in the comforting, homey feel of the place. I liked the range of dishes on offer, from simple prata to briyani, and the traditional kuehs were a nice touch. It’s the kind of spot that feels familiar and dependable, with enough variety to make it worth coming back.

I was quite surprised at the quality & portion of the food that I took out this morning. Bought 5 packets of nasi sambal goreng. My personal review as a whole; 1. The rice was too little & dry 2. The begedil was as small as 2 (maybe 3) marbles combined 3. The main dish, sambal goreng, should not be named sambal goreng but simply cubed tahu goreng (not even fully cut, mind you) 4. I love the sambal sotong kering, though To the owner, pls relook into this. Some restaurant owners tend to skim the quality citing rising cost as their main culprit. Thanks

Fm my POV, the nasi sambal goreng with sambal sotong would be one of my top 3 ranking. One significant difference from the rest is that they used the small sotong kering instead of the usual big ones. Even tho the bagedil is small, its homemade very nice and tasty. It’s readily packed with 3 options to choose from…will update photos next time I’m there.

Laid back traditional Malay coffeeshop with plenty of food. Their signature nasi bungkus is a must try when you are here. Coffeeshop is an icon among Tampines residents and people staying in the East side
