Given the many BBQ seafood stalls here at Newton Food Centre, I feel like they ought to buck up. Honestly the food is very average. It's not bad, but it's not great either. Saving grace is that they open their stall up until quite late into the night, so when we walked in looking for late night supper options, they were one of the only few stalls left open. If there are options, this wouldn't be my choice.

Can’t understand why some rating so high, honestly the stingray chilli sambal taste too saltish, the stall owner even missed out the shrimp chinchalok sauce to dip in the seafood quite ex $12 tried once only. Anyway it’s halal stall is stood beside Best Satay.

Grilled seafood is plenty at Newton hawker center, to be honest I have tried all but this stall deserves a michelin bib gourmand for its stingray is BBQed till “just cooked” - fresh tender flesh slathered with very tasty Sambal Chilli pulls off the soft bone of the body with slight nudge and tuck with the chopsticks. I like the flavour heighten with a squeeze of lime and a dip in chinchalok. The mussels has a gravy with beaten eggs thrown in just when it’s about cooked - warm slippery egg and sauce mix with perfectly cooked shell where you can choose to eat on its own or order some fried buns to wipe the plates clean. The cockles... fresh and tasty with belacan - I ordered them ½ cooked as YOLO, enjoy! Only stories on my ig@elnatan . No photos but will try to get some as I return so often for this grilled seafood fix.

Felt like I got ripped off on the prawns... Ordered one for $16. It tasted pretty good but somewhat overcooked.

Delicious food albeit a tad pricey. Still trying to figure out how they’re able to cook a lot of tasty meals from a very small kitchen setup. It can be crowded so expect to wait in order to “reserve” your seats.

Enjoyed the BBQ stingray, Gong Gong and French bean stirfry. Did not expect much but all 3 dishes hit the spot. Portions were a little small but guess that's how things are now with F&B in general. No pics as was not expecting above average yummy levels so by the time I realised, everything was gone...Will return to eat!

Went on a Sunday night, it was past 1130pm but they were still operating. Staff was warm and welcoming. Ordered gong gong, Kang Kong and sting ray costs $36. Affordable price and taste was delicious. Such a satisfying meal. Staff was kind and generous, did not charge for our rice. Highly recommended!

The lady kept pushing us to order their prawns, saying it was their best seller. Seeing that it was only $9 on the menu, we said OK, expecting to pay a total of $21 for a small slice of grilled stingray ($12) and one order of prawns. When our orders arrived, we were told our bill was $48! When asked why, we found out that the prawns weren't $9 per order but $9 PER GRAM. We paid $36 for 2 prawns that were frankly too tough to remove from their shell, and were dry and chewy af. Not worth the money we spent. We went to Newton Food Centre for a memorable last night and last meal in Singapore. Instead, we felt cheated and left feeling disappointed.
