A decent fix for hainanese style curry rice! The portions are a little small (inflation eh?) but the taste of the curry is still more or less right (it's factory made. I'd be surprised if they can get it wrong)

The taste still so-so lah. Noting spectacular about this Encik Tan. Tried most of the noodles and curry rice sets. Today, in a hurry so I chose the cheapest Fish Ball Noodle Dry (Set 1) at SGD4.00. Used to being a regular here since it open. Now seldom eat here. Now sure whether the rude uncle and the rude lady still around, they are the cooks for noodles side.

extremely bad customer service! the northpoint brunch worker, keep getting my mother’s order, she repeated nicely, but the worker started showing my mother attitude, still added an egg when my mother already repeatedly say no egg. called their general inquiry number at, 6370 1155, more than 20 times, it’s either no pick up, or picked up and purposely cut my call! why put a number and purposely not want to answer the call? this is a proper customer service? why are your workers not respecting her buying orders? my mother is paying for the food, don’t want the egg, still purposely added the egg and charge her for it! forcing her to buy without her consent! is this your way of getting more money from your customers? $1 for an egg, which my mother clearly don’t want. also, why does your egg look a bit… the egg white, not very white..

One of my usual food. I always like this type of curry rice style. Seem messy but taste good and easy to eat over a quick meal. I usually order the fried chicken set. I like the curry rice in encik, so far all standards are good. Tasty Crispy fried chicken with soft boiled cabbage with thick curry gravy. Cost SGD5 which is a decent food court price.

Possibly the worst Encik Tan franchise in Sg. Despite repeatedly reminding them that I want chili..they never added it in. Taste also bland. Staff seem distracted. Just close shop la if cannot serve customer properly!

The chicken cutlet from this Northpoint City outlet was horrible. Chicken was cold and dry, the meat was very tough. I will never visit this outlet again. I've also tried the one in Bedok Mall and also CompassOne Mall. They have queue for their curry rice and their chicken was so tender and juicy.

The woman with short hair wearing red manning this shop barely gives any char siew seriously what is this meat to noodle ratio? Stingy. The service also is subpar. Every single time I try to get here the meat gets lesser and lesser embarrassing for them tbh. If you get the extra char siew which is like $2.50 then you get a normal portion of char siew this is nonsense lol

The chicken cutlet size is smaller than an iPhone 12mini. Everything served looks like unwanted leftovers re-fired up from days before. The SFA seriously needs to check on this outlet. Seems like it's not only recently since similar reviews dates way back. Ordered pickup and food was left there at the counter. Even when I approached the empty shop to pickup, those counter staff nearest to the entrance just stood there chatting and didn't even bat an eye. It's like anyone could have walked in on it. Even the housefly that charged towards me as I entered was more aware of my presence. Should have read the reviews before buying.

The first place I came for my meal after moving to Yishun. The $5 chicken cutlet set is definitely the best seller on their menu, come with deep fried crispy boneless chicken cutlet, stirred fry cabbage, fried egg, and rice topped with generous Hainanese style curry sauce. Finish the meal with their $1 lime juice. Perfect meal of $6, big serving enough to satisfy any hungry adult. Plenty of seats inside and behind the counter.

Went to the north point city. The food portion is pathetic, it is not filling even for a small eater like me. Only a small amount of noodles with 5 fish balls for $4.80. Very pricey. The uncle is also very inattentive, told him not to add garnish but he still put. The seating area behind is cluttered with boxes as the space is used for storage but diners are also seated there so they should place the boxes more neatly at the side. They also expect us to return our own tray. With that being said, it also meant that I need to clean the table before I can use it as it is very dirty and there is no cleaner around to clean the table. The only good thing about the shop is its good location and that’s it.

This franchise has lots of branches and the one i'm reviewing is in Northpoint City. Simple and filling is how I'd describe the taste for this. It is obviously trying to emulate the Hainanese version of Curry Rice, and while it may not be the most authentic version (because its Halal) and doesn't have the Signature "Lor Bak", I personally feel it still has its worth especially when you're eating it for a quick and filling office lunch break. I especially enjoy their Chicken Drumstick Set. The batter on the Chicken Drumstick itself while thick, is delightfully crunchy with Juicy Meat and contrasts nicely with the overall "softness" of the dish. The Curry itself is hot and creamy, slightly thick and has a almost Japanese curry type of sweetness to it. This isn't the type of curry usually seen in Traditional Hainanese Curry Rice, but it still sorta works. Cabbages are boiled very soft and brings to the dish its own sweetness, and the whole meal is rounded out nicely with a fried egg. While Braised sauce is available, it's almost non-existent in the dish which is a pity because it would elevate the dish even better if it helped to add a layer of saltiness to the dish to balance out how sweet the dish is. And that is probably the best way I can describe about this dish is that it has a very distinct and almost overwhelming sweetness to it. Other than the Drumstick, most of the items texturally has a very soft bite feel. Because of how sweet it is, I can understand why some people might not like it. That said, if you're not fussy, this is a meal that can fill you up at an affordable price compared to some meals offered in a Food Court nowadays.

Terrible service from counter staff at the rice section. Rude, can’t be bothered attitude and deliberately charged us for a large drink we asked for the set. When we asked why did she charge us full price she said because we said ok to a large drink. If a large drink was not part of the set, she could have told us that it would be charged separately and not part of the set. At least we would be informed of the charged before paying. Overall, terrible experience and would not consider visiting ever again. Just to share, the branch at Vivo is also getting bad to worse.
