Wanting to try this place for quite a while and today had the time and opportunity to do so. The ordering process is fast and easy and the wait is not too long either. I came around 1pm on a Wednesday afternoon. Ordered the Haddock and Crisps which comes up to around $20+. The fish is really good, nice and fleshy. Quite filling too as I'm not a big eater. Love the batter, light, fluffy and crispy. Comfort food and goes well with a soda or beer. The downside here are the crisps. The crisps arrived cold. Many of them were soft. My expectations were to have warm crisps just like having warm fries. Even if they are not kept warm, having them crispy and crunchy would be a delight. So the stars goes to the fish but nothing for the crisps. Hopefully my next visit here or other outlets will change my perspective and ratings.

Small place with a fast food set up. Serves with good variety of fish meat in the fried fish menu. If you are craving for some deep fried fish and chips, this can be your dining place. The batter is thick and crispy. The codfish platter seems ok. Instead, I love the mash potatoes than the fish. Small stools and tables with Big dining plates. So, not a good combo.

Gave a 4 stars because a kid meal also cost the same price as an adult meal! Sad.. Other than that, food is okay, fish is fresh, that’s important! So thank you.. I did not take a photo of husband’s meal though but he has chips, nice, rather than the regular fries that other restaurants serves. But it’s oily and not entire bowl is crispy. Some are soft but maybe it depends also on the chef on duty? Not too sure coz only went once. Soup of the day is not those taste only cream and little mushroom type so I can still accept. Their dining table has drinks slot to hold cups to prevent spills, pretty unique. Overall, a good place to try venture in once awhile, maybe, but definitely not with kids again.

Maybe it was the choice of fish. Not knowing any better, I selected the default Dory fish which was soft and mushy. Perhaps it was the expectation that the fish would be firmer. The spicy batter was oily and didn't have much taste. Crisps were tasteless too with quite a few being soft. Don't think I would return anytime soon. The soup and black coffee were fine though. Service was decent too.

Pass by this restaurant and realise it’s a local fish and chip restaurant. We ordered a fish and chips classic with dory fish, grouper fish and chip, and kids menu haddock fish and chip which pair with Pink Dolphin drink. Both classic set comes with two side dishes. Think is a nice try and can support local brand also.

Pretty decent Battered Fish and Fried Chicken. Love the new Garlic Butter Lemon sauce that they do. Batter is nicely crisp and light w a decent portion of fish. I do prefer heavier spiced fried chicken but this one here is pretty decent. Do try their variety of other Battered fishes when here. Halibut and Seabass are amongst best in flavor.

Big fish Small Fish, Bugis: We love all things fish and chips and did a London/Edinburgh trail of non-stop fish and chippers indulgence so I was quite looking for to sinking my teeth into this. Big points for the fish which was love at first sight. It was well battered, plump, golden brown and everything you croon over a good fushandchuppers. Fish was flaky and tender but the batter was flat. We did sides of cheese sticks and calamari which were rubbish. Chips were not your thick traditional chips but they were decent. Sauce was just tubbed-type meh. So come for the lunch deals and lunch deals only and head here for the fish and fish only. #eatstylishtravelstylish

A satisfying meal ❤️🍽️ for two Both the haddock and dory fish were exceptionally well cooked just like in Australia 🥳 portion is quite sizeable too 🐳 so it’s suitable for sharing if you plan on eating again elsewhere. The lemon soda was equally as tasty as the main course plus if you add in the staff’s politeness, you’ve got yourselves a five-star experience 💙

- The Mushroom Soup main issue was its consistency. as it leaned towards being too watery. However, the flavor profile itself was well-balanced, boasting earthy notes from the mushrooms, complemented by a subtle blend of herbs and spices. Note to BFSF: Adjusting the ratio of broth to mushrooms can improve this dish -> A thicker, velvety texture of creamy mushroom soup. - Grilled Sea Bass perfectly seared to reveal tantalizing grill marks, hinting at the burst of flavors that awaited. Upon the first bite, It was tender and flaky. The fish's natural sweetness shone through, creating a harmonious blend of flavors. The prompt service and relaxed ambiance made it an ideal spot for a casual outing or a hurried lunch break. Overall dining experience was pleasant for those looking for a quick bite. Cheers!

Big Fish Small Fish offers a delightful seafood experience with their fish, pasta, and chips. The star of the show, the fish, was impeccably cooked, boasting a crispy and flavorful exterior while remaining tender and juicy inside. The pasta, prepared with finesse, was al dente and paired well with the fish, adding a delicious twist to the meal. The chips were perfectly golden and served as a satisfying side.

Their battered fishes are super crispy and tasty. I had both dory and sea bass, both were exceptionally fresh. However, their sides were quite frankly, terrible. Aglio Olio was overdone (too soft). Chips were not freshly fried but seems to be from a bag, and it’s all soggy. Come and try their battered fish, but don’t expect much from everything else.

Came here on a weekday evening with my daughter. It’s on the highest floor of Bugis Junction, around the middle rounded escalators, just two floors above Kinokuniya. Love that it’s only $14.90 for pasta and a huge slab of fish! Although more could be said of the side salad which was just a few pieces of greens. See my pictures for clarity! It was relatively quiet and relaxing. The aircon was quite cold too up here compared to the shops below. What we ate: 1. Grilled fish with pasta (with cream add $1). Note that the cream made my tummy had a slight run but nothing some Lactefort can’t fix. Just minus one star as you had to pay for cream sauce, pomodoro. Only aglio pasta is free. 2. Chicken cutlet pasta Food was superbly delicious and value for money! Will definitely return!

We had the haddock and sea bass for dinner tonight. Decent fish and chips and value for money. Taste and quality seems consistent with the other outlet at Suntec. Enjoyed the dinner as always!

Having fond memories of this place, I was excited to revisit, but initial disappointment struck as we stood at the entrance unnoticed for 10 minutes. A proactive approach was needed to secure a table during peak lunch hours. 🥄 Taste: Opting for the Signature Fried Dory Fish with Mashed Potatoes set, I encountered a dilemma. While the dory fish was delightfully fresh, the presentation on mashed potatoes proved impractical. Attempting to slice the fish resulted in a messy and soggy experience, impacting the overall enjoyment of an otherwise tasty dish. The Mushroom soup and Ice Lemon tea, however, were commendable and added balance to the meal. 📏 Portion Size: The portions were undeniably generous, justifying the price point. Despite the challenges with the fish dish, the hearty servings left no room for hunger. 🍽️ Ambience: The restaurant's ambiance was generally pleasing, but it tended to feel cramped during peak hours. A more spacious arrangement could significantly enhance the overall dining experience. In conclusion, my return to Big Fish Small Fish offered a mixed bag of experiences. I am optimistic about a better encounter on my next visit, although a cautious approach may lead me to reconsider ordering mashed potatoes as a side due to the impractical presentation.

Super delicious fish and chips at an affordable price. The student meal is very worth it and there are a few options to choose from. The batter is crispy and the fish is fresh. Highly recommended for students to try!

Went here without much expectations other than to satisfy our Fish and Chip cravings and came out with a superb experience. It had been many years since I've patronised Big Fish, Small Fish (back when they were still in Northpoint) and I'm surprised by how much has changed since then. It would seem that they've converted their business model from fast food to a more "restaurant" kind of vibe. It's certainly has all the bells and whistles of such - the QR code ordering and table service. The food was absolutely terrific, the crispy batter taking nothing away from the natural flavours of the fish - arguably enhancing it, in fact. My wife went with the Dory and I with the Halibut, the latter being our favourite! The Pomodoro Pasta certainly surprised us by how fresh it tasted, the strong mix of tomato flavours alongside garlic and onion undertones is something we'll be remembering for a long time. While the drinks fell short for us, due to our preference for sweeter drinks, the attentive and friendly staff provided top-notch service. The laid-back atmosphere, offering the positives of a restaurant without being too formal, coupled with decent views of Bugis (despite ongoing construction), added to the overall positive experience. Overall, this place will be the first I think of when I crave for fried fish again.

A large piece of freshly fried fish and side of potato crisps. The salad helps to cut through all the fried items which has not so much taste besides the crispiness. The sauce helps. When you cut your fish piece , be careful since it is on top of a bed of potato crisps.
