I went for lunch around 1 pm. It was busy but I was seated fast. Service was lukewarm and no explanation on the menu etc. The servers all were in robot mode and I noticed that they pretty much ignored other tables that they were waiting on. My chicken biryani had more bone than meat on it and was barely palatable. No wonder it was hidden under the rice. Had to ask for water and silverware. No explanation on where to pay the bill. I guess you paid at the front and gave your table number that you did not know. I would avoid this place as the tables are too close to each other for any ambiance or privacy. I guess they are aiming for quantity rather than quality. Service is robotic and if the other menu items are like mine, not worth it. Luckily, there are a lot of other restaurant options in the area.

Been ages since I updated or made a review and been ages since I came here so here goes. We decided to makan here for lunch as boss was craving for nice awesome Indian food. So we told him to make the decision and he decided on Sakunthala's. We arrive around 1pm and was given seats rather fast. Probably lunch crowd was half done so that's good. We looked at the vast menu and really was spoilt for choice. We ended up with 2 Super - Meal, 2 Fish Briyani and 1 Prawn Briyani. Not long after and i mean barely 10mins, food arrived. Briyani came in copper pots and it was a nice touch for sure. Super meal came in trays with bowls of sides and meats and even dessert. You know when the food is good when the table went silent for a bit before starting any conversation. The meat was tender. The chicken was juicy. The fish was flaky but alas the prawns were tiny. Oh well, can't have the best of everything yeah. We had our normal drinks so that's not worth reviewing. All in all, definitely will be back but this time with no time constraints ie not lunch time so as to enjoy the food and all its deliciousness. Food : 4 / 5 Staff : 4 / 5 Ambience : 3 / 5

Sakunthala's Restaurant will be remembered for thier warm hospitality and mouth-watering meals served for our daughter's wedding reception. When more guests turned up than we invited, they quickly arranged dishes without compromising the taste we wanted with the smile they hold throughout the celebration. We absolutely loved the entire experience we had at Sakunthala's Restaurant and will know who to look out for in the future.

It was my first time to Sakhunthala's. Celebrated Father's Day 2022 with the family. Fantastic ambience, superb service and great food! Loved the massive fish head curry and the butter chicken was out of this world! Will be back soon!

Had their vegetarian meal and masala chicken briyani. Food is always tasty and consistent. We were served by Megala, she was very polite. Excellent service by her. As for the food, it would be nice if they had more options for vegetable sides for their vegetarian meal. Besides that, everything was great! Bhindi fry was very good!

Had been a regular customer here. Overall food is good despite the food standard now and than has some issues. Price wise I think there's some increase. I think it's fine but the service has to improve too for it to reflect on the price increase. Hope the management will make sure the service gets better. Otherwise may not patronize anymore. Overall, price is competitive but like I said, service has to be competitive, otherwise risk of losing genuine customers. Food can be improved too, there is some drop in the food taste and standard as well.

Heard reviews from friends that Sakunthala is not worth, still we tried. It was wonderful experience and food was amazing. Love the taste and service. Super meal is must try, covers all non veg, crab biriyani was amazing and food of the day Dry chicken was too good, tea was not upto the mark, otherwise it was good. Worth spending $$$.

Good halal South Indian restaurant. Tried an interesting starter (forgot the name, first photo). The dip is a spicy mint sauce which is very nice. Fish head curry (red snapper) was excellent! No fishy smell. The deep fried ladies finger was also nice we ordered another round. Forgot to take photo of the tandoori chicken that was nice too. And last dish the rendang mutton. All in all nice dishes at reasonable price and service was good.

I visited this place a few months ago, and it's a good place to dine after shopping in Little India. We ordered their North Indian meal and South Indian meal, and the food was really delicious. However, the service was unsatisfactory, as it was hard to get hold of a waiter. On the bright side, the hygiene was good. Overall, it's a great place to enjoy some Indian food with friends and family.

I have always love butter chicken and this place serves the best in my opinion! We ordered a portion of nasi brayani to share as the portion is huge. Also ordered garlic and cheese naan. It was so delicious and it goes so well with the butter chicken curry! In the end, i bought another portion of mutton brayani for take away to try!

My visit to Sakunthalas Restaurant was a culinary delight. I ordered the chicken biriyani, and it exceeded my expectations in every way. The portion was generous, and the flavors were simply amazing. The biriyani was perfectly cooked and had an enticing aroma that made every bite a treat for the senses. To complement the meal, I tried their lime soda, and it's an absolute must-try. The refreshing citrusy flavor provided a perfect balance to the rich and savory biriyani. The service at Sakunthalas Restaurant was not only quick but also remarkably friendly. The staff's warm hospitality added to the overall positive dining experience. If you're in search of a place that serves delectable biriyani, offers refreshing beverages like lime soda, and provides top-notch service, Sakunthalas Restaurant should be on your list. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Best and complete Indian cuisine. The usual go to restaurant, especially for family outings and having guests from abroad. Spacious, tasty foods and great service. But today, it's Take Away for a home party and the ever reliable Mr Ravi ensured our orders are all good and his staff are attentive to our requests. Halal certified and so many to choose from.

Sakunthala never fails me! The Briyani Mutton is a flavor explosion - tender, fragrant, and perfectly spiced. The Butter chicken is a succulent masterpiece, charred to perfection. The vibrant atmosphere and friendly staff enhance the experience (But sometimes it gets really busy). Whether you're a foodie or a spice enthusiast, Sakunthala is a must-visit for a mouthwatering journey through Indian cuisine. This place is a true gem that satisfies cravings and ignites a love for authentic Indian flavors. Don't miss out!

I tried their mutton biryani, which was tasteful and worth the price. They have a lot of different and and it was pretty crowded, and the service was average

Masala tea was very fragrance Papadum was thin and crispy, kinda different from what I usually eat. It was free! Brinjal curry made me want to have more rice. They cooked it so well that it was not too soft or too hard. The taste of the rich creamy curry was almost perfect. Must order! Mutton masala was so so, curry was a little too diluted. Mango fish curry was good, just that for the price we paid.. the portion was way too small. Dun order, not worth it. Vegetable biryani was so so. The basmati grain was not the long and fluffy type. Nothing to shout about. Garlic naan was too thin. Not much garlic taste. Not to my liking.
