Great food! We ordered the ayam penyet, tauhu goreng and rendang beef. Ayam penyet was crispy and wasn't dry (chicken thigh). Sambal was given along it's side. Tauhu goreng was not bad. The rendang beef was superb! I love it so much. The meat was so soft and tender, very highly recommended. This place is rather small so the seats gets filled up quite quickly. We came around 5:45pm for an early dinner so we still had empty place. However when we left around 6:30pm, there's already a short queue forming outside. Payment is online here. I used GooglePay and it was super convenient. Of course there are other methods of online payment accepted here. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place if you like heavy-tasting food.

I was there on Saturday 11ish. Food was served hot and service is very friendly! Love the smiling macik and cashier service. Rendang was a little disappointing as it’s not cheap for a few very fat beef that isn’t edible. Other than that, I like this outlet! Will recommend!

I'd highly recommend the grilled chicken (ask for thing and leg if possible). It had a strong charcoal flavor and a good black bean dipping sauce. We also tried the oxtail soup (a bit too fatty) and Kang Kong veggies (not salty enough).

Expected better food since there wasn't a crowd. Fried chicken was cold and had to send back to the kitchen to heat up. Ordered grilled fish but what came was more of a deep fried fish. Dessert was fair. The vege was most acceptable. Reply to owner: I dined at this exact restaurant 2 weeks ago on Sunday, 26 September 2021, about 5.15pm. My friend selected your restaurant out of so many halal restaurants. Disappointed not because of the food but your reply to my review. Hope this clarifies your doubt.

One of the better ayam penyet places in Lucky Plaza in my opinion. Love coming here as well for the tahu telor. A definite must try. The sweet sauce drizzled all over the towering tahu telor is such a wonder to look at and eat. It's crispy, tender, soft, flavourful, sweet, and melts in your mouth. This time around I have the grilled catfish. Most people are apprehensive cause of the bottom dwelling fish. I for one enjoy catfish. There's no gamey-ness cause its grilled, and soaked in sweet sauce. The meat is also easy to get off the bone. Paired with the chilli padi, a very well home cooked meal. Marked down on service because there's minimal.

Then Ox tail soup is one of the best. Meat was tender and the base soup is simply great. The fried tofu was soft inside and crunchy outside but the gravy was too sweet for me.

Honestly one of the best ayam penyet I've tried. I'm happy with the size. The taste the service. Everything. Would recommend coming. The bagedel wasn't the best but it did come in a plate of 3 so that's nice to share with your friends or family. Like that the drinks have a upsize version as well. Sambal was nice and spicy. Happy with the food. Would definitely come again and recommend. Don't go to ayam penyet ria.

Canadian traveller here. A great restaurant to go to if your feeling hungry for Malay food while shopping. We ordered fish and the smashed beef dish as well as the oxtail soup. I like my deep fried with to have a bit of salt just to added some flavour, but unfortunately it wasn’t the case today. However, the food still tastes good. We enjoyed the oxtail soup especially during a rainy day like today. The smash beef was delicious and I would order that again. There are also several seating areas so no need to worry about lining up for too long. You have to order at the front with the mini sheet of paper and pencil they provided you. This restaurant was nice and bright and clean. The food will come quick!

First time here, dined in during lunch, queue was short and fast moving. The queue to enter and to pay was a little haphazard. Got food within 15mins. Portion looks small but was filling enough. Chicken is a little dry, can be better marinated so it will be more savoury. The sambal was very good just a little bit too spicy for me. The teh was excellent though! Milky and very fragrant - worth my $2. May come back to try the ayam penyet again so the review will be fairer. Went back for 2nd time to eat the Ayam Pangang- it's better marinated than the penyet but also a little dry. The teh was substandard today. :(

Ordered signature Alam Penget . Photo shows nice big drum stick but was served with small little breast meat ! Felt short changed! Very tough and dry . Not nice and not worth the money ! My first and last visit .

Ayam penyet was good. The other chicken I ordered has spicier chili 🌶️ I like the fragrance rice also Service was quick. Served within 5 minutes. Ordered through app and paid at app. It is just the place a little bit small and old style.

Great ayam penyet, but the gado gado was served in a bath of peanut sauce that rendered it soggy and unappetizing. Add the depressing, dingy back room setting and you have the makings of a spot worth only a quick bite if you’re in the area and desperate for Indonesian at premium prices.

Amazing the quality of chicken is not great as before- not crispy and not golden brown in colour. Tamarind soup also not as tasty as before too. Quite a disappointment after craving to eat there! The shop doesn’t have the nice fried chicken smell too… are we too early there….

Ayam Penyat President had been one of my favourites. This visit was disastrous. There were so many signs that it wasn't what it used to be. Store looks rundown, floor was sticky, furniture worn out. Staff were busy chatting, didn't bother to take order. Food did arrive fast but the strong stench of reused oil and the dark colour of the fried items had only shown that they were fried in overused oil. Dancing fried fish is a signature Indonesian dish but the one served was hard as rock. Tahu telor didn't have the usual fried egg fragrance. My partner and I had bad digestion that evening. His BP shot up to over 160 & I had gastric issue! I can't help but wonder if the outlets are now handled by different younger owners cos Kallang outlet doesn't seem this terrible. It's really such a disappointment. Another good eatery gone into history!

The egg and tahu combination is softly deep-fried and so crunchy while the tahu’s inside is still strong and velvety. The richly flavored soup and tasty and tender chunks of oxtail, interspersed with bits of fat. For me, the gado gado seasoning lacks the nutty taste and texture but so far it’s still delicious. Staff is very friendly and helpful as well. Overall a pleasant dining experience!

Came here for a team lunch, and the location was a good place because there is so much space! Ventilation was good as well as air con was going strong 👍 a little too cold, but it's okay when the sambal is spicy. Water is not complimentary, and there is a sink for you to wash your hands after. 🐟 Ikan Bawal Bakar is pretty good! Thought the fish looked pretty small, but upon eating, the pomfret was very meaty, and it was fried really well! Super crispy! I rate: 4/5 🌟 🐔 Ayam Penyet was their signature dish, and the little fritter bits were really good as well! Though a little small and dry, the flavour is good and goes really well with their sambal. I rate: 4/5 🌟 🥚 Telur Taohu is a must buy!!!! It's so fragrant, and portion size is great for sharing. I drenched my share with the sauce! I rate: 5/5 🌟 We ordered lots of other dishes and it is a bit hard to write down all, the satay was quite burnt, but the meat was chunky and juicy! Would love it if there were some red onions as well. Oxtail soup was light, and meat was tender. Perkedel (3pc) was not as flavourful, and it was like mashed potatoes in a ball. Would like it if there were more spices and small chunks of onion. I could taste a little bit of butter in there, too!

You are in Singapore and want to try new food. you have to try this Authentic Indonesian Restaurant. They serve Ayam Penyet, one of Indonesia’s most popular traditional dishes, made from chicken fried and served with signature sambal. The price is affordable and there are many food choices besides chicken.

The Sup Buntut was such a shockingly small portion and it tasted so so only, I’ve had better, not worth $9.50. The sambal with the Ayam Penyet is super spicy but good and when we were there, they only had the chicken breast portion available, which was really dry. We wanted to order the tahu telor but not available so we ordered the fried enoki mushrooms instead and it was just sad limpy looking so meh. Drinks on the menu looks great but meh also. First and last for sure. Ayam President had bigger portions, tastier and service staff there was way friendly.

Ordered the ayam penyet & Sup buntut. Food was served fresh and hot promptly. Ayam penyet came in with piping hot white rice and very consistent quality. Surprisingly the sup buntut was so delicious. Tender meat and full of flavors. Perfectly cooked.

The food here was average. Fragrant rice was cold, ox tail soup too salty. Hence 3 stars for the food. Staff who served my food was colder than than an AI robot 🤖. No smiling no thanks, just doing the “job”. Would not recommend this place.
