Passed by countless time. Finally decided to pop in on a Friday afternoon for lunch. Nearby there’s a public carpark, so no issue for those who drive. It was full but didn’t have to wait long for a table. Have to order at the counter, and self collection at the food counter later. The place has a nostalgic feel with the old furniture & set up. Love it. There’s a wedding corner whereby you can see all the things one has to prepare in the past & present for a wedding. Ordered the chicken curry with bun. The bun is soft & fluffy with a nice butter flavour. The chicken is old school style Chinese curry, reminds me of my grandmother’s chicken curry. Nice! And had a cold barley to go with the meal. At the side, they also have their usual takeaway stall whereby you can buy carrot cake, fish balls, curry puff & etc…

This outlet has no customer service at all the the lady working here is Unfriendly and Rude. I asked if I could be seated at the corner table she sides no and pointed me at a one-person table even when it is not busy it was just 2 customers myself and one more person. That’s fine for me a smaller table than she said we don't have food only coffee now at 10:30 am. As if she is not happy to have me there. I said it was fine I just needed a coffee and a toast set. This outlet makes me a cold food it took about 2 minutes of waiting and what I got are a cold coffee, eggs and my toast it was hard you can still see the butter is not even melted. If you wanted to try this for the 1st time I suggest not to is not worth it. Even if it is cheap is not worth it. I was having a good morning I was hoping to have a good coffee and toast. Not worth the time. The employee doesn't make it a good experience. Never will I allow my family or friend to go there for anything.

Enjoyed the flower bread curry chicken, especially the curry itself. Could do with less bread and more curry chicken. The chap chye was not bad, especially the ingredients. The teh c kosong was fine. While the flavour was good, the curry puff lacked ingredients - didn’t taste any chicken chunks in it.

Come on. Your lovely staff is pressing phone all the way. I asked for sambal for nasi lemak she gave me the packaged belacan samba. Dont even look at where i point. Also your food sucks. Im telling everyone seeing this post do not come to this shop. Go terra food court!!

A nostalgic place tucked in the corner Mckenzie Rd that brings you back to the 70's . They serve great coffee set and mee rebus (1st visit) and tried the tahu goreng and chicken chop & chicken rice ( average ) on my 2nd visit .Still love the vibes , not so crowded ...

One of my usual places to go to for a quick bite on Saturday afternoons when I’m in the vicinity, I must comment the overall dining experience is declining over the years. Don’t expect any service from the wait staff, but that’s forgivable as they don’t charge for that. Haha! It’s infamous amongst many OCK diners I know that the people working there are generally upset over ordering, serving, and even collecting payment! Pity I’d think it’s the last time I’ll want to dine over in this nostalgic and rustic shophouse. What’s left is a good old memory where the OCK folks serves good deep fried snacks like the fried fishballs and their curry puffs. The snacks now are a hit and miss, sometimes not warm and very miserly with the chilli sauce. The curry puff that’s part of my lunch is of room temperature, and tastes stale (overnight). The signature dry curry chicken is very salty and has a “frozen” taste to it, not literally but if you know, you know. I’d probably just recommend a simple kopi or tea over a casual appointment as the environment gives nostalgia. (Not that the kopi and tea is good but won’t hurt as it’s only $2)

This is a mandatory stop whenever I visit Selera. A bit more controlled this visit. Only got a few skewers, sotong (squid) body, cheesy cocktail sausage, cheesy meat ball, chicken nuggets and of cos the must-hav chicken wings! Somehow thus particular skewers are nicer and fried to perfection!!!!

The food was okay and was a generous portion. The rendang chicken was nice but my preference is still for the dry curry chicken, which is full of flavour. You can opt for rice, bee hoon or nasi lemak version, which comes with peanuts and ikan bilis, a sunny side up egg and achar.

We visited this restaurant during covid. loved the food during our first visit. So we decided to return. Ordered the Flower bread - curry chicken. The bread became Not tender as compare to our first visit and they only provided 3 pieces small chicken, one little potato, plus one cold barley come with this dish. Cost 13.90. The nasi lemak chicken leg was badly grilled and not healthy. We will not return again. Hope management provide better food.

Good for a casual meal. Nasi lemak with chicken wing and otah was good, portion was decent. There’s no service charge, so don’t expect great service from the restaurant. Restaurant is nicely decorated with nostalgic elements in the interior. There’s a huge open air carpark just opposite.

Well, they are living up to the traditions of the long history of Old Chang Kee and this flagship store is certainly a must to visit to embrace the good ol times of Singapore. Their food and dishes generally are above average, nothing out of the ordinary but I have to comment that their curry dishes are pretty yummy. Drinks are ordinary, nice ambiance and environment to have a catch up with friends and family or have a work meeting there during non peak times.

The ambience was nice. However, the bun sets which we have ordered were below average. Coffee was too diluted, the buns and eggs are just normal. Hopefully they can improve on that.

Very nice place to have snack and breakfast.. very recommended to try. A bit historical also because this place was the first place when OCK opened back in the 80s

Nice old school deco and easy parking as has a big carpark crossed the road. The food is not even the normal OCK standard 😅 The Mee Goreng don’t really taste like Mee Goreng, a tab too sweet and too wet.

I went Apr 2024 and the service was excellent - the staff was friendly, flexible about our seating preference and gave honest recommendations. I took the dried laksa which was fantastic. They had the less spicy option so people like me could enjoy it too.
