My parents, having eaten here a couple of times, recommended the beef rendang. The sauce and meat itself were flavoursome, and the other dishes were also tasty. The rice is low quality, however. It’s a very popular place, so you have to come early or there may not be any food left. Portions are kind of small. The first time, I chalked it up to us arriving late and there being very little food left, but during our visit today (we came early), the amounts seemed especially meagre for four people. The bill worked out to more than $10 per person, yet not everyone was full. You don’t get value for your money. Also, you don’t know how much things cost and how your bill is calculated. Service is mixed. The lady seems gregarious, but the younger man has a standoffish attitude.

Really good food and service although a tad expensive. The beef rendang and chilli sotong (squid) was really good. The bbq chicken they recommended came with a green coconutty sauce which was quite delightful. The bagedil (potato ball) was very satisfying (two of us shared one rice and we each had one bagedil so we won't be stuffed with carbs). The sambal chilli was not spicy and was distinctively smoky (amazing and I want the recipe!) The only thing that we didn't quite like was the long beans and the fact that the food was not very warm. Otherwise it was lemak and delicious! Sedap! Try going during off peak hours as parking might be an issue.

Stumbled upon this warong coffeeshop selling mix rice, Malay style. Owners/staff were friendly, food was good, beef rendang was nice. We finished everything. Price was reasonable being 50 inclusive of drinks, fish, sotong (squid), fried chicken and beef. The fried chicken was abit salty for my likely thou, else everything was good.

Sambal - particularly good - had a roasted/charred flavour. Chicken lemak - good flavour and tender Beef rendang - tender enough and good flavour but the texture was not so great. Terong - fine. Jackfruit - interesting. Teh tarik - pleasant and not too sweet.

Still good after all these years. Not many places left which have spleen, young jackfruit sayur, and this standard of rendang.

This is one of my favorite food so when my office moved from Raffles Place to Bugis, this was a bonus to me. I absolutely adore the chili. It is so good! The price is also relatively reasonable. In the past, most dishes are sold out by noon. These days, they seem to have better control on that. Looking at this right now made me decide I shall have this for tomorrow’s lunch. Looks like it will be sweet dreams tonight.

The most expensive Nasi champur I had ever in SG. I order for 1 person: beef rendang $5, sotong $7.50, chicken $6.50, rice&veg $2. Total paid $22+ for myself. The pictured beef rendang was re-portioned after I asked the cashier how much was the beef. Being told $5 for 4 slices, I told her I can’t agreed and ask her to give more or charge lesser. She gave more as pictured. I don’t have such bill shock & miserable portion at nearby HJH Maimunah. Once bitten twice shy, won’t be back

Quick and Efficient service. Very pleasant and smiley elderly male serving the food. They have spleen and lungs served here. Didn’t have the stomach for those. Rendang is a bit sweet for me but the nice food makes up for it. They only have rice and dishes here. Come early, because their potato beef soup sells out before noon.

Absolutely top notch Their ikan bakar yellow curry is outstanding Absolutely loved the barbecued ikan selar, the nostalgic sweet sour soy sauce with outs of shallot green and red chili just nails it perfectly On most days you can ask for an egg omelette Beware it’s a local favorite and hence always crowded

Quite a number of dishes. We took a few dishes like rendang, cucumber, squid, potato cutlet, etc. After taking our order, we just need to wait for food to arrive. There's a number of people serving the food but only one staff clearing the table. It's a good thing there's a lot of seats available. The taste is alright. A number of carpark available during weekend.

Kinda pricy, close to $20, based on my order. Don't bother to other the batang fish, normal, tasteless. Sapi rendang can try. To me, it tastes like slight peanuty after taste. As for the chicken, maybe it is chicken breast. It is kinda dry and hard. The rice is fluffy 😍 Might be back to try others' dishes.

Taste is authentic compared to to most that I tried. Definitely nicer than the nearby 1s I find. Price and taste wise. Definitely will come back to taste other items.
