First time at Sakon Thai at Downtown East. Not busy during lunch time on weekday. Service is prompt & set meal is served faster than Ala cart. I had Thai basil rice set meal which includes a lemongrass drink. Total bill including service charge & GST is $10.47. The food taste good though the drink is quite bland, no lemongrass taste at all.

Wanted to try this place as our other go-to place in DTE starting with 'B' seems to have dropped quite a bit in standard. Price wise - Sakon Thai's higher than average both before and after taxes. Basil chicken was on the sweeter side. It's nice but could be more more savoury? Tom Kha soup was average and a bit too sour. I thought the tumeric tofu was good. I wasn't expecting something that tasted more like curry. It went well with rice but those who can't take spicy should probably steer clear. Overall average thai food with good portions.

Came here on a weekend afternoon and the shop was not very crowded. We ordered the set for 2 and added an ala carte lala dish. Food was not too bad, though tom yum soup and lala dish was a miss for us. Loved the honey chicken though! Kailan was average. The drinks were ok too and not overly sweet. Minus point was that we were almost done with our meal but the last dish took forever to come out haha. Will still be back again to try the fish dish, hopefully can give the last star next round.

Their thai food is really nice!! From kids friendly foods like their nuggets till the mains such as their Thai basil chicken ,beef, vegetables, Tom yum soups, green curry and many more!! I have tried most of their food and their service has been great thus far! Great customer service and going the extra mile to help me with my kids and ensure I’m provided with clean utensils too! Even got a free baby gift from the staff!! And they always allocate a seat for us that has a bigger space for my kids and myself to dine in! Great food, great service 👍🏻👍🏻

Staff are friendly and polite. Love their red tomyum soup. Full of ingredients and tastes legit. Phad thai is also one of my favourites here. Pineapple fried rice is on the sweeter side.

The staff were very nice and attentive. Service was great despite there being only 1 vegetarian dish being the pineapple fried rice. I appreciate the staff explanation that being Halal certified was tough enough and narrowing the menu to offer more vegetarian/ vegan options is a challenge.

Food was decent but services was VERY bad... Food Curry and kailan was nice BBQ chicken was very dry and hard. Omelette was acceptable Service We were serve a green curry n 2 rice, then 20mins pass n next dish wasn't out. One of the waitress say food was coming soon and I ask what happen, she replied there issue in kitchen with Gas. Then after a good 10mins pass, I got impatient and ask again, another waitress told me the kitchen did not receive the order on their POS. And kitchen just start cooking. By now my green curry n rice was cold (eat half way and waited almost 30mins) And after that, the balance dishes came out in less than 5mins. Obviously a lack of communication between server and kitchen. Understand machine may cause issues, but it's just few steps and server could easily told the kitchen to prepare the food that order wasn't sent into the kitchen (or could easily ask what's the hold back) Worst was the attitude of the waitress, whom as if it wasn't a matter at all and just shrug it off. Decent food but service attitude require heaps of improvement

Delicious Thai food at affordable prices. Usual Thai dishes on the menu but nicely done and flavorful. The spicy dishes make you sweat, exactly what you want from a satisfying Thai meal! Set menu options for lunch are good and easy on the pocket. The service was fast and efficient.

The food is delightful and affordable. However the ambience can be improved further. You already have a Thai crew serving authentic Thai food, play Thai music in the background please, not westernised music. I will come back for more.

The food is delicious and authentic. The green curry chicken is really nice. I feel like in Thailand. The price is also affordable. And the service is good and attentive. Especially the server name Iman. His smile and recommendation is worth it.

Ordered a take-away Basil chicken Bento set for lunch. The dish is so oily and didn't taste like the authentic Thai style. Disappointed.
