we decided to finally try this trendy cafe, and got the pain suisse and mentaiko croissant! the french butter that they use really makes a difference in their pastries as the pain suisse we got had an incredible buttery flavour and flaky texture. there could have been a larger ratio of chocolate, but it was still good. however, the mentaiko croissant was stale. the mentaiko and crab had a nice flavour, but since it was stale, it tasted odd. the croissant wasn't flaky and was hard. (it could possibly be because we came quite late in the day) on the more positive side, the staff were nice and friendly. if you're in the area, feel free to try this cafe with interesting food!

Cosy little shop in Bras Basah Complex. The croissants and bakes are so good and staff are friendly. Will definitely be my go-to place for a croissant fix. They have fixed items on their menu and also some items which change, not sure how frequently. So it's interesting to see what will be new on my next visit. Although, the plain butter croissant is reason enough to come back. Crispy on the outside, soft, buttery layers on the inside. They have good coffee too, a perfect combo with the croissant.

Really enjoyed the pastries but not so much the coffee! Had the chocolate pastry and the kaya roll pastry. Loved the bite and fluffiness of the butter crust. Fragrant and savoury balanced by the fillings! Will come back again for the pastry. It’s located on ground floor around the middle section ( currently blocked by some construction hoarding) enjoy!

Dropped by on a Saturday around 1130am. The cafe was not crowded and it was very cosy, the air conditioning was excellent. Service was excellent too, very friendly and helpful staff. The one who served me is the founder I believe, made me and my little daughter (my cafe buddy) feel very much at home! I had the beef shepherd's pie croissant, chocolate pain au suisse and a matcha latte in the cafe. The shepherd's pie croissant is superb, with creamy, buttery mash and flavours of the beef were spot on. I took away other pastries as well, like the creme brulee croon which was not cloyingly sweet, which I was pleasantly surprised by! Even the filling of the kaya pain au suisse was the perfect ratio of filling to pastry. The guava mochi tart was also divine. I love that they have savoury croissants, and that the sweet items are not overpowering-ly sweet like some I have tasted before. Overall, really enjoyed the pastries and cafe itself. Thank you for the delicious pastries and great service. I hope Gamo will remain in the cafe scene for a long time and I will definitely be back for more!

27 Jan 2023: Got the crab mentai croissant, pain au suisse & white coffee. The coffee was surprisingly good! I honestly liked the crab croissant more than the pain au suisse (which is the their signature). I did find that there was too much chocolate & the pastry was a tad bit too doughy. I also wished the croissant was more crispy. The environment is very chill & calming :-) They have no WIFI here though!

Finally went in to try out this cozy nook located inside Bras Basah complex. Usually not crowded and a nice place to spend an afternoon with a book. Friendly service, the flat white was so-so but the butter croissant was quite nice. Not as crunchy as Tiong Bahru Bakery but still has a nice crunch and taste. Would come back to try more of their bakes. Note: this place only accepts card payment

A bakery cafe located on the first level of Bras Basah Complex, they serve up really great pastries and coffee. We tried the Pan Au Suisse and Crabmeat Croissant along with a white coffee. Everything tasted amazing! We particularly enjoyed the coffee which was smooth and nutty, texture of milk was on point. Come here for a quiet break away from the crowd, they have ample seating with benches and tables for a more communal setting.
