A decent avenue, however $24.50 for 2 plates rice, one plate chicken, and 1 chap choy dosent seal the deal. Branding apart, everything else was mediocre. Definitely not a place for the young, a nostalgic vibe, B star at Best Chinese Halal Food Shop.

We chanced upon this little no fuss outlet. It looked simple and clean. Owner and staff are friendly. Rice served is chicken rice — cooked just right - not hard nor mushy. Crispy baby squids has good crunch with the right amount of caramelized coating. Mixed veggies was not overcooked. Lemon Chicken has a good portion of lightly-battered chicken fillet slices. They retained the crispiness too even though they were doused with tangy lemon sauce. All of us of 3 different age groups (Above 80, Above 50 and Above 10 years of age) enjoyed this meal. Total bill came up to $40.55. Today, we are here again for dinner. Now managed to add in photos of the almost-the-same-ordered dishes except today, we had sambal kangkong and tofu with prawns. The kangkong was not clumpy nor too oily. There is still the crunch, hence not overcooked. Tofu with prawns dish has good-sized prawns that are fresh. The sauce over the dish was done “hor-fun” egg-based style. So if you enjoy the “wet”/“sup kum” style, order this dish. Consistent good quality is important. Better still, the lady server still remembers us! 😃

My all time favorite chicken rice & the Chap Chye. Avoid the soup if u not fancy of MSG. It sustained the old taste of McKenzie since the 70's. However if fancy of a well aircon location, tis is not ur preferred choice. Compromise the taste against the comfort for u to choose..

Service was very fast. The food rated 3 stars. Portion small. You are charged extra if you ask for extra chilli. Nothing fantastic about the food. They seemed ordinary.

I ordered some chicken rice and other dishes. Used to be very good. Not sure why they are giving so little rice and cutting down so much on their portions. This is very disappointing as this is what customers don't want to see.

Classic chicken rice. Chicken is flavourful. Rice is aromatic. Vegetable dishes simply awesome.

One of the old school places for chicken rice. They had a wide variety of food on offer and the price was very reasonable. Also accept lots of payment methods. A surprise find especially when other spots were close. Will come again soon.

We ordered half roasted chicken very excellent taste. The meat are soft and tasty. The taufu hot plate is ok with plenty of small pieces of taufu and egg taufu but the quality of vegetables are quite disappointing cos they just use frozen mixed vegetables. The chicken chilli sauce is too salty and don't much fragrance of chicken chilli sauce. Not too thick. The soup is very simple clear soup. The chicken rice is ok with chicken fragrance taste. The staff are friendly and helpful. The quality is excellent. They can improve their chilli sauce and the soup. The hor fun beef is quite disappointing.

Chicken rice is flavourful and appetizing. Its non-greasy nature, however, results in a slightly dry consistency. Portion is little and unfortunately the price doesn't justify the portion. A plate of normal chicken rice and a can drink cost $7.

Disappointing Mackenzie never separate gravy from noodles. Its ok u dont know we fasting and have to wait 1 hour and till then noodles will all be mashed up but shouldnt gravy be automatically separated from noodles during delivery!? Must i everytime add this instruction 3 - 4x a week? Common sense mah. We spend more than a hundred every week w mackenzie. Come on man. Very bad.

Today I ordered half steam chicken from Rex Chicken rice store. Told them no need to de-bone the chicken. Saw the guy preparing took the bone and threw it in with the rest of the chicken. Am wondering if this is how they prepare or pack customer's order..? Is this consider half chicken for 18$..?
