Tried it for the 1st time, to find out why there’s always a queue at this place, and we were not disappointed. Most menu items are under $9, and you get freshly prepped warm comfort food. We ordered Ayam Geprek Original and a side order of crispy fried chicken skin (sinfully good) and cheese dip. The meal was perfect, I don’t know how else to put it. One thing you should note is that they have a spiciness scale for the sambal chili from 1-15, one being non-spicy. Don’t be fooled, I ordered #2, which was plenty spicy. More than I could handle; coming from someone who’s not a fan of spicy food but occasionally enjoys a bit of a mild spice. I could just image what sort of culinary incineration #15 would be ;) Would definitely go back here.

Delicious, spicy sambal that’s like no other in Singapore, and generous portion! Their specialty is Ayam Geprek which is chicken cutlet smothered in sambal, and Papa Ayam is one out of two of my favorite ayam geprek in Singapore. I fell in love with Papa Ayam, the sambal to be exact, when my nephew sent it to me when it didn’t even have an outlet yet. It was not like any other sambal in Singapore as it was freshly made upon order and not fried. I personally prefer fresh sambal, but since I moved to Singapore, I haven’t found one yet, maybe because fresh sambal tends to spoil faster than cooked one, and Papa Ayam has that fresh sambal that’s made upon order that I missed so much! Can choose spiciness level up to level 15 some more! I was so happy when they opened at PLQ because I couldn’t get my ayam geprek fix so often from their 313 outlet as I stay in the east side. Anyway, I’ve tried most of their menu already, but my favorite is still the Ayam Geprek Original because it’s the sambal I like and I get to pick the level of spiciness, regardless it’s eaten with rice or Indomie, they’re both fantastic! The portion of the chicken is generous, and I love that they’re using breast meat (it’s tender though, don’t worry!). The only downside is that the chicken batter is not crispy anymore when it’s for takeaway or delivery and the sambal is not separated (which will cost extra).

I had tried the half and half in rice and Indomie version, I love them both. The fried chicken smells good, tasted just like those fast food chains standard. Rice and noodles were normal, nothing to mention; the chilli paste is the key of the food, the strong, powerful, punchy kicks of chilli padi enhanced the flavour and brought it to another level. I will come back regularly and would love to try higher level for my next visit.

able to choose the level of spiciness from 1 to 15. I tried level 10 and it was delicious! Food was served promptly, chilli was freshly grated at the counter. the fried chicken thigh was marinated well, tasted delicious on its own. Only downside was that the chicken was not served hot. Would have preferred it to be hotter and it would be perfect with the mouthwatering chili.

Order the Ayam Geprek sambal Matah G2, it was delicious at first bite, then the more i eat i feel the chicken feel soggy. The Sambal matah is very generous portion. The other order was ‘chicken skin’ but taste was all right, the portion is enough for 2 pax to try. Spicy level selection i think 5 is decently spicy. Service staff is friendly during the order. However cant pay via Landlease voucher which is disappointing.
