I have visited Bara Food Simei twice since their opening! The restaurant's environment is well designed and their service is excellent! I really enjoyed their authentic Indonesian food and brought my friends along to taste their wonderful dishes. Their authentic sauces and spices goes amazingly well with every dish. I especially enjoyed the fragrant rice wrapped beautifully in leaves, so pleased that they paid this amount of attention to serving the rice. Really glad that their delicious Indonesian food is available in Singapore! I highly recommend Bara Food Simei to anyone that wants a taste of authentic Indonesian food!

Bara branch at Eastpoint Mall at Simei location so accessable by MRT train. Usually the Bara at Tanjung Pagar tables full with crowd, this branch so much spacious with in-door and out-door. The signature fragrance rice wrapped with banana leave and their famous dishes taste same and yummy as the Tanjung Pagar one. Bara never disappointed our each meal experience with good Indonesia authentic Indonesia foods and friendly warm Indonesian hospitality. We will definitely be backed again!

The food was amazing, we ordered Set A and Set C (Ayam Bakar Bara). Honestly the Set C was amazing, the chicken was very tender and extremely flavourful. So glad we stumbled across this place, will definitely return with my family

I had set b the fried chicken with herbs spices for my dinner just now. Actually I did t expect much for food as I really don't like taste of tea poci. However the food really surprised me! It's nice. The platting of food is presentable as well.

Came here for dinner with my family and had an awesome dinner! Food was very good! Beef was slightly overcooked but everything else was perfect! The sambals were all to die for! The rice was very good too! It went very well with the entire dish! Definitely recommend this place :)

First time there. Food was good though a tad too many spicy items, which wasn't great for me.. manager was good. Made solid recommendations. The ice kacang was really rather sweet.

We had such a lovely time at Bara at Simei’s East Point! We ordered the Ayam Bakar Set, the Ayam Goreng Serunding Set, Sate Lilit, Tumi Buncis, Bakwan Jagung! Both types of chicken was tender and super flavourful and even though the chili given was also very good, it was already perfect like that! The Nasi Bakar that came with the sets were super fragrant with the coconut leaves and I was glad I ordered an extra Nasi Bakar! The Buncis Tumi was a pleasant surprise as I ordered it to have some balance of meat and veggies! But it could hold its own stage! If you need to order veggies, order this! Bakwan Jagung & Sate Lilit was good too! Special mention to the male host and the service crew! Cheerful and welcoming! Can’t wait to be back!

I would say the food here is rather unique. Service is definitely very good with the staff being very friendly. 2 of us dined without drinks for about $30 Personally I find the Ayam Penyet to be a better choice as the meat is tender and yet flavourful. My dish which was the shredded meat had more an unbalanced strong flavour (perhaps the rempah wasn’t cooked out enough so the flavours hadn’t merried well together yet). The banana leaves gives a good aroma to the rice. I will still come back to try their other items

If you enjoy good varieties of sambal (sambal hijau, belachan, goreng) with grilled chicken and fantastic banana leaf wrapped rice (similar to nasi lemak in taste but stickier), this is the place to go! Came with the family and my 4 year old boy requested for an extra serving of rice, is that good! Appreciate the gesture from the owner to separate all the ingredients when serving the soto ayam. A nice touch.

The Ayam Goreng Serundeng is the best! Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. So flavorful and appetizing! The grilled rice complemented the rest of the dishes.

Was craving for Indonesian cuisine and headed down after reading the google reviews. The food didn’t disappoint! Was so happy to discover this place. The rice was fragrant, tempeh and tofu all good, grilled chicken too! Also loved the different chilli provided. Took away some dishes too. Will be back for more! Thanks friendly service crew for helping to recommend dishes. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Bara is a must-visit restaurant for anyone looking to experience authentic Indonesian cuisine. Their unique selling point of Indonesian grilled rice sets them apart from other Indonesian restaurants, and it does not disappoint. ❤️❤️ For those who prefer chicken, the Ayam Bakar Bara is a stellar choice. The chicken is succulent and tender, grilled to perfection and finished with a glaze of Indonesian sweet sauce. Paired with the bara, crispy tofu and tempe, famous twin sambal, side salad, and melinjo crackers, this dish is a complete meal bursting with flavors. 👍🏻😋😋 Another chicken option is the Ayam Goreng Serundeng, which offers a different taste experience. The Javanese-style fried chicken is topped with a mix of fried herbs and spices, including bara. It is a delicious combination that is guaranteed to satisfy your taste buds. 👍🏻😋😋 If you're in the mood for soup, the Soto Betawi is a must-try. This Jakarta-style beef soup is flavorful and comforting, with chunks of potatoes, tomatoes, and spring onions. 👍🏻😋😋 Vegetarians will delight in the Gado Gado, an Indonesian mixed salad in peanut dressing. It is a vibrant and delicious dish that is packed with fresh vegetables and topped with a rich and creamy peanut sauce. 👍🏻😋 To end your meal on a sweet note, try the Gunung Merah (also known as Es Campur). This dessert is a delightful mixture of grass jelly, jackfruits, and various jellies, presented in the shape of a mountain. It is a perfect balance of sweetness and textures. 😍😍😍 To accompany your meal, the Soda Gembira, also known as Fizzy Bandung, is a great choice. It is a refreshing and fizzy drink that complements the flavors of the food perfectly. Likewise for Ice Calamansi which is refreshing and tangy, perfect for beating the heat! 😍😍😍 Overall, Bara is a gem of a restaurant that offers a truly authentic Indonesian dining experience. With their unique grilled rice and a diverse range of dishes, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The flavors are rich and vibrant, and the portions are generous. The friendly staff and cozy ambiance only enhance the dining experience. Whether you're a fan of Indonesian cuisine or looking to try something new, Bara is definitely worth a visit. 🤩😋

Chanced upon this Indonesian restaurant at East Point Mall and decided to went in for dinner. We ordered 2 of the signature grilled rice sets and some ala carte dishes that recommended by the staff. The food came fast and was simply delicious. The manager by the name ‘Rashid’ I think, was so friendly and kept checking on us on how was the food. Overall we really enjoyed our dinner there. Highly recommended!

Enjoy the best & authentic  traditional Indonesian flavours at Bara. Stepping into the restaurant, we are welcomed by the friendly staff and the cosy vibes & spacious seatings is inviting. Our attention is immediately captured by the skillful staff at counter expertly wrapping the Indonesian Nasi Bakar - spice-infused rice wrapped in banana leaves. These will be further grilled to capture the rich aroma flavours. 😍 🐔Ayam Baka Bara set $12.50: Signature Bara style grilled chicken glazed with sweet sauce with sambal matah. The chicken is tender, juicy with enjoyable smoky aroma. 🐔Ayam Goreng Cabe Ijo set $13.50: The well marinated chicken was deepfried to golden brown and topped with inhouse green chilli sauce. Packed with so much punch and super shiok! Don't underestimate the spiciness of the chilli🥵 Try it for yourself to believe! Special mention to their fragrant Nasi Bakar which paired perfectly with their mouthwatering inhouse chilli made from scratch. 🌶️ 🥗Gado Gado $10: Generous serving of variety of vegetables, tempeh & tofu tossed with inhouse special peanut dressing. 🍲Soto Betawi $11.50: Comfort bowl of Indonesian style beef soup soto served with potatoes, tomatoes and spring onions. Paired well with the rice set we had. Accompanied melinjo crackers are so good. 🥭Fizzy Mango $4.50 and 🧼Fizzy Bandung $4.50 are perfect thirst quenchers with vibrant colors that will brighten your day! Can't leave without their 🍧Signature Si Hijau $6 which is an unique version of cendol served with generous bed of jackfruit. Not too sweet and perfect dessert to enjoy after our meal. Satisfying meal and we are planning our next visit already.

The food was delicious, rice was fantastic, and chilli sauce was nice. Staff were friendly and attentive. Cosy deco. I love the ambience. The long table at the back is perfect for family or friends gathering. There are alfresco seats too. Area for improvement: chicken meat was too dried. May be marination can be longer.
