Ayam Geprek Mercon 🍜 Food wise: Pretty delicious plate, the chicken was quite tender and slightly juicy! The chilli was supposed to be spread on top of the chicken but to be safe, one requested to put it by the side because the chilli was said to be spicy and it was pretty spicy! Felt like the chilli's were the star of the show here. It also turned out that they may have a variety of chilli, Hijau, Mercon and other chilli. I was given the sweeter red chilli and there was one without the sweetness, it was pure spice, not sure what both of them were called but one of them is Mercon for sure. The green chilli was fragrant and spicy! Dip the keropok into the chilli, it was delicious! ✨ Ambience wise: Feels like a KFC kind of vibe! 🤵🏻 Service wise: Great! Friendly staff! One requested to try the Hijau and they gave so much! 💵 Price wise: $8

Located on the ground floor of City Plaza. Plentiful parking available in the building or if you are lucky, there’re public lots along the road at the back of the building. Decided to get it a try after hearing recommendations from a friend. Ordered the Sup Buntut and wasn’t disappointed at all! The meat is not fall off the bone but still tender enough to be pulled apart easily with utensils. I felt this is just the nice texture for a positive mouth sensation. Taste wise is pretty close to the best that I have tried before in Jakarta. Do ask for sambal and calamansi to mix into the soup for a spicy and tangy kick. Pricing wise, is a little on the high side but ingredients are fresh and portioning acceptable. Orders are made and collected at the counter from friendly staff and place is kept pretty clean, which makes it a pleasant place to have a quick meal. Witnessed pretty much an Indonesian clientele when there, must say that boils down to the good and authentic food. Will be back to try the goreng goreng stuff next time.

Recommended! Ayam Penyet with rice comes with selection of 5 different types of chillis. We tried sambal belacan and belado it's spicy and yummy. Good selection of drinks too! Will be back next time to try their Ayam Geprek!

Snugged away at City Plaza (away from the city) (and not that far from the city) is this local restaurant with some local delicacies. The ayam penyet (also known as for “compressed chicken”, was delightful. For those venturing into spicy-ness, the chilli paste is definitely hot to the palate.

Very delicious bebek penyet! A rare find in SG. Most shops only sell Ayam penyet. I ordered green chilli (hijau) highly recommended!!!

The fried chicken (ayam penyet) is not dry and quite crispy. Portion is sufficient too. Love the version with fresh green chilli sauce. You can ask for more sauce if needed. It’s an indoor air conditioned restaurant, and staff is friendly. Plenty if seats for big groups too. Halal certified. Prices start from $7.90 nett for a main dish. Beware of the red sambal chilli though, it’s really spicy! Felt that the side dish of tofu and tempe can be cheaper.

-Ground floor of old school shopping centre. -Better seating than hawker centre -Personally the ayam bakar is the better than ayam penyet as the penyets have been a tad dry a couple of times. In summary, you won't be disappointed with the food. Whether it's the best or one of the best you've had...really depends on the individual

as an Indonesian, this is the best and most authentic ayam penyet I've tried in Singapore.

after reading so many positive reviews, we decided to have dinner here on a Thursday evening. Unfortunately it turned out to be a disappointing meal as the fried chicken was too dry despite being a thigh piece. Frankly many ayam penyet places at hawker centers could offer much tastier chicken at lower price point. Their teh tarik was good though.

This is a ayam penyet store that is worth trying out. It is located in city plaza, with a cozy interior. During lunch time, there would be seats available as it is a quiet mall. The ayam penyat was great and i like the crackers. The chilli was fragrance but be warned that it is super spicy. If you prefer other type of chilli, they also offers 4 other type of chilli. If you dont like chilli, there are non spicy options as well. Other than chicken, i also like their duck and promfet. Do try them out.

Actually to be honest for the price point it's not worth the $$ paid. The chicken is too dry already, seems like being double fried. For $10.50 can get a better ayam penyet elsewhere.the meat is so difficult to bite, people whose teeth is not strong enough pls don't try.very disappointing

Saya dan teman kemaren makan malam di sini , order bakso dan Soto lamongan. the Bakso was normal but too much behoon. don’t know where’s to get the chilli too. and my soto lamongan was so disappointed ☹️ in that big bowl there was too much behoon, a few a few small slices of ayam suwir, half hard boiled egg and sliced cabbages. the soup is tasteless. please control the food before you serve it. Thank you
