One of the best tempura chain. The batter great, Been eating for long while. Portions slightly reduced. No more more long beans and free flow sides dishes from our last visit in aug 2022. Haiz.. If you go to original shop in Tokyo it is more expensive

Good “Ebi tempura” or deep fried battered shrimp. This restaurant specializes in “tempura donburi” or fried “tempura” on a bed of rice. We loved this place. Fast service and no gimmicks.

Edit: Pls note this review is for KYOTO Shokudo (Vivo) and not TOKYO Shokudo(Vivo). Tried to add the review for KYOTO Shokudo and it seems there is no such Google entry for reviews to be posted. Came here last week and had a pretty decent experience so came again but never coming again! Ordered their duck pasta and a matcha drink last week - pasta was ok passable; matcha drink tasted weird. This time I decided to try their matcha pancakes and lychee drink. I placed my order and then 10 minutes later, the table next to me ask for their pancakes to be served. After that, a couple walked in and placed their order. Guess what? Pancakes came out after 10 minutes but they were served to the other 2 tables that ordered after me! In the end, I only got my pancakes after 25 minutes (waiting time was 15min). The pancakes were really a disappointment -neither hot nor cold; and tasteless. I tried to finish it to avoid wastage but it was really bad and I only finished half :( Couldn't taste any matcha or anything. The lychee drink was a small diluted glass and not worth the $8++. Overall a total waste of my time and money. Total bill (pancakes and drink) came up to $22+. The only saving grace (and 1 star) is the very sweet female staff (Siew Wen) who gave excellent service both times I visited. Save your time and money and go elsewhere.

I think I like this tempura the most! The sauce on the tempura made it so tasty. Not oily at all, definitely will come again in the future for a bowl of tempura with rice .

Waited around 20-30min for tendon, they deep fried batch by batch. Tempura are totally out. Doesn’t taste like tempura, and most of the item soggy

The tempura is not bad, but I feel that there isn’t enough sauce on the rice as it looks really plain. Other restaurants would provide tendon sauce on the table for diner to use if they either need it on the rice or to dip the tempura in it. We asked for extra sauce but was provide very watery sweet sauce that doesn’t really enhance the taste of both rice and tempura.

$12.95 chicken ramen and it's decent. The noodles are nice and chewy accompanied with delicious chicken broth. It also comes with a whole egg, yummy and little on the salty side. It also has 2 pcs of finger sized chicken meat. Honestly not bad, try it out.

Wanted to try out a new ramen shop in Vivocity. Ramen and soup overall ok. My kids however found the drumstick a bit to chewy for their taste. Do note this is a non pork Ramen shop but they have chicken and beef options.

Tried Tokyo Shokudo for the first time. The soup base is thick and tasty, and not too salty. Highly recommend the spicy soup base, but make sure you are able to handle it. It’s surprisingly considered really spicy for Japanese food standard. Enjoyed the waffle dessert, with a generous serving of berries & sauce.

The tempura batter used here is the doughy kind (as opposed to the Tenya light and crispy kind which I prefer) but still crispy if consume immediately otherwise any moisture will soften it quite fast. The 2 prawns which I suspect may be from those pre-frozen pack kind, were thin and not meaty. Dory fish was too soft and not at all meaty. The rest of the pieces and soup were standard fare. The chuka wakame here is tasty. Overall it is a bowl of nicely presented tendon using somewhat mediocre ingredients but quite casually enjoyable nevertheless. This tempura is not for me though. Tenya is better.

One of the worst desserts. Matcha pancake? More like matcha cheap butter cake? Look at the picture if you dont believe me. Cant sell pancake dont advertise as pancakes. Green tea tasted funky. Kinohimitsu shiratama green tea. Bad.

Had you even tried ramen cook in such terrible way? Come try it! If you like stone tempura, come try it too. I assure that it is as hard as rock!!!! It is 4:14pm. Not busy hour yet could screw up the food. Amazing

Somewhat disappointed with the Japanese food here. While it appeared appetizing, the taste didn't live up to expectations. The tempura, as shown in the pictures, had a soft and flavorless texture, with thick flour overpowering the ingredients. Btw, the Ramen soup tasted good, as my friend had commented. Hopefully they'll enhance their food quality in the future.

Food is okay. The tempura could’ve been more flavourful! 🍤 but really lousy service even on a weekday lunch hour! The wait is 45 mins atleast to have the orders served to the table.

Always come here to fulfill my tendon craving. The taste is inconsistent. Some times is so good some times is too salty. This time was too salty. The original Japan one is less salt and have more sweet soy sauce taste. Please improve 🙏🏻

7% CNY charges should go to staff? They deserved that. Overall, the dining experience was average. Good for casual dining.

Cool clean cut wooden interior, commonly adopted by mall-located Japanese restaurants. Ramen wise, so so, while I wouldn’t brag home about, I’ve also had worse. Broth wasn’t thick, rich and spicy enough imho. Beef was scarce. Gyoza, not bad, skin wasn’t too thick, and the filling was marinated adequately. Takoyaki, I was my never a big fan, thought it went down well, no complaints. Overall, it was good to try but I wouldn’t go back if I had better option.
